Avocado Storage Solution!

Often times we use avocado as a garnish and would love to save the other half for the next day. The problem is that avocados get brown very quickly.

But there is a natural solution in our friend the onion!

The onion has such a volatile oil that it will keep the avocado from oxidation.

Chop a small onion and place it in the bottom of a container. Place the half of saved avocado (skin side down) on top of the onion – the flesh of your avocado will not come into contact with the onion. Keep the pit in the saved half of avocado as well. This also helps prevent browning.

Your avocado will only have the faintest hint of onion.
